Phage–host metabolic interactions

How bacteriophages rewire the metabolism of their hosts, studied with genome-scale models.

Bacteriophages reshape host metabolism to support their own replication. We use genome-scale metabolic models to examine how phage-encoded functions interact with host metabolism, including synergy and antagonism in metabolic hijacking (Science Advances, 2026).
