Song Feng, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor & Principal Investigator
Song Feng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Baylor University. Song’s research program studies the design principles behind microbial physiology and microbial communities in the context of evolution and ecology, combining multi-omics approaches, such as proteomics and metabolomics, with computational modeling. A central goal is to build mechanistic yet data-constrained virtual cell models for designing microbial communities. Other projects use AI and automation to build models, tools, and software.
Before joining Baylor, Song was a scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Nonlinear Studies, Los Alamos National Laboratory.
